Nature of the product
EpigraphIA is a desktop application that runs locally on your computer. It does not collect your content (your works, images, projects or prompts) and it applies no telemetry. Your content remains on your machine.
Personal data collected
When you make a purchase or contact us (outside the Application):
- Email address.
- Name (optional).
- Country (for billing).
- Payment information (processed by a third party; we do not store your card details).
- The content of the messages you send us, and any review you choose to leave.
From the Application, only in these cases:
- When validating your license (on activation and periodically): the license key, a technical identifier of your device transformed with a cryptographic function (hash) that does not reveal your computer's name or details, and the Application version. In the Beta Program: your beta code and your email address.
- When checking for updates: your IP address and technical connection data, as with any internet connection.
- If you send a report about a bug or content: what you write, the Application version, a screenshot only if you attach one and, if you wish, an email address or code so we can reply to you.
We do not collect sensitive personal data (biometric data, health data, ethnic origin, beliefs, etc.) or financial or asset-related data: payment data is collected and processed directly by our payment processor.
Purposes of processing
Primary purposes (necessary to provide the service; they do not require your consent):
- Processing your purchase and validating your license, including the device limit.
- Delivering product updates to you.
- Providing you with support and handling the reports you send.
- Complying with legal and accounting obligations.
Secondary purposes (you may object at any time):
- Sending you notices about new product versions.
- Inviting you to leave a review after your purchase and, if you leave one and approve it, publishing it.
If you do not want your data used for the secondary purposes, write to legal@xbstudios.ca. Objecting does not affect your license or the service.
Transfers and data processors
To operate the service, your data is shared with providers that process it on our behalf (data processors), located mainly in the United States:
- Polar Software, Inc.: payment processor and license validation.
- Vercel Inc.: hosts our license and report server.
- Resend: email delivery.
- Supabase: database for beta codes and reviews.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: download and update server.
It is not shared with AI providers, advertisers or data brokers, and we do not sell it. It will only be handed over to authorities under a valid order.
ARCO rights (Access, Rectification, Cancellation, Objection)
You have the right to:
- Access: know what personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Cancellation: request that we delete your data (except where legal obligations require us to retain it).
- Objection: object to the use of your data for specific purposes.
How to exercise them:
- Send an email to legal@xbstudios.ca with the subject line "ARCO Request" ("Solicitud ARCO").
- Include your name, the email associated with your purchase, and the right you wish to exercise.
- We will verify your identity.
- We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days and, if the request is granted, give it effect within the following 15 business days, as provided by the LFPDPPP.
Note: as for your creative content, we cannot give you access to it or cancel it because we do not possess it: it lives on your computer.
Security measures
We apply the operating system's secure-storage encryption for sensitive data (such as API keys), TLS for data in transit to processors, and the principle of minimal data collection. No measure is 100% infallible.
Changes to this Notice
We may modify this Notice. If there are material changes, we will publish the updated version with its date and, where reasonable, announce it within the Application.
